A Seattle man accused of squirting a water pistol at a Seattle police officer during the Occupy Seattle protest at Westlake Park has been charged with three misdemeanor crimes, according to the Seattle City Attorney’s Office.
Juston D. Thompson was charged Wednesday in Seattle Municipal Court with obstructing a law enforcement officer, fourth-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Each count is a gross misdemeanor, punishable by up to 364 days in jail and a $5,000 fine.
Thompson, 24, is accused of squirting the water pistol at the officer on Saturday. A pretrial hearing has been set for 10 a.m. Nov. 14 in Seattle Municipal Court.
Thompson was released from custody after he posted $1,425 bail on the night of his arrest, according to the City Attorney’s Office.
Eight other protesters have been charged with obstructing a police officer.
