Capitol Hill Key Bank allegedly attacked on Pride weekend
Original story: “The 2012 response from SPD shut the event down without any reports of significant property damage. Earlier on Saturday, however, Seattle Fire responded to the Key Bank on 15th Ave E to deal with what we have been told was an attempt to damage the bank’s ATM.”
UPDATE — Seattle Fire has confirmed that an “accelerant” was found on an ATM on the Key Bank on 15th Ave E Saturday morning. The fire marshal made the determination after being called to the scene around 11:20a on Saturday. The investigation was turned over to the SPD arson and bomb squad. The ATM had not been seat on fire and we have no further details yet on the type of accelerant found.
Capitol Hill banks have been frequent targets for vandalism though one area ATM fire was later determined to have been an accidental electrical fire.
