Canadian police issue nationwide warrant for Seattle man

Seattle PI. July 4:

Police in Canada are looking for a Seattle man wanted in connection to last year’s destructive Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver.

Jensen Peter White, a Seattle native who was studying at the University of Canada, was charged late last year with participating in a riot, mischief and failing to appear in court, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Police say the 21-year old took part in the June 15, 2011 riot by helping flip over a car on West Georgia Street.

White was due in court on May 7, but police say he didn’t show up and is now wanted nationwide.

“It is futile to hide,” said Inspector Laurence Rankin, team commander of the Integrated Riot Investigation Team. “I encourage Mr. White to do the right thing and contact investigators to make arrangements to turn himself in.”
