Grand Jury Banner Drop Action Spotted Downtown
Yesterday in downtown Seattle, I spotted what appeared to be a banner drop, flier throwing, and smoke bomb tossing action. The banner read, “Against State Repression (A) Grand Jurys are Witch Hunts”

The flier I picked up read as follows:
Against the FBI, The Secret Courts, & the Repression of Anarchists!
“On the morning of Wednesday July 25th three suspected anarchist houses were raided by the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Portland. Six people in Portland, Olympia, and Seattle were ordered or served with subpoenas to attend a Grand Jury* at the Federal Courthouse in downtown
Seattle on August 2nd at 12:00PM.
The actions of the the FBI and the JTTF are a clear attempt at suppressing anarchist activity. As the State orders it guard dogs out for yet another inquisition, we must also come together not under false commonalities but through our shared desire for the destruction of everything that makes this prison and police world possible. While they attempt to spread fear and turn anarchists against one another, we will spread strength and aim our attacks directly back at our enemies.
Each repressive measure by the State only makes our targets that much clearer!
*A grand jury consists of 16 to 23 jurors who are not screened for bias. The grand jury operates in secrecy and the normal rules of evidence do not apply. The prosecutor runs the proceedings and no judge is present. Defense lawyers are not allowed to be present. If an individual refuses to testify they can be held in contempt for up to 18 months in prison.”
