An Occupy Portland photographer was arrested and taken away by Homeland Security shortly at Terry Shrunk Plaza. Although not an official press photographer he was still within his rights to be there and no explanation was given as to his arrest. Portland, OR, USA, 31/10/2011.

The officer who arrested the man, pictured wearing purple gloves, gave no reason as to why the man was arrested when questioned – however, he is the officer that is proactive in making the arrest in the photo.

According to Federal Protective Services his arrest was not concerning the Occupy Portland movement. Police were mobilising in riot gear under the Morrison Bridge shortly before the arrest. The occupation has erected a handful of tents on Terry Shrunk Plaza, a Federal Park.
